Only twenty minutes northeast of Orange City, in Sheldon IA, Northwest Iowa Community College (NWICC) offers a broad range of educational options for 2400 credit students during 2009-2010. NWICC offers over 30 programs in varied fields including arts and sciences, business, computers, health, manufacturing, automotive, electrical, plus a variety of trade and technical programs. NWICC offers four programs that are not found anywhere else in Iowa: Powerline, Industrial Instrumentation and Control, Automotive Machining, and Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance. NWICC was named one of the “120 Best Community Colleges in the nation” by the Washington D.C. based Aspen Institute which was an outcome of the White House Summit on Education last year.
