Child and Family Development / Crittenton Center

Through a partnership with the Early Childhood Development (ECD) Board, in September 2024 Crittenton Center began providing childcare and preschool services in Orange City. Crittenton Center’s Child Development programs follow research and play-based curriculum, and children are cared for by certified teachers and trained classroom educators. Orange City Christian School

Orange City Christian School offers an alternative for parents committed to intentional, scripturally-directed instruction. The K-8 programs are fully-accredited by the Iowa Department of Education. MOC-FV Middle School

MOC-Floyd Valley Middle School is dedicated to providing 360 students with a quality education through outstanding opportunities and programs that deepen their learning and involvement. The dedicated and committed staff at the Middle School works diligently to develop the “whole child” through a developmentally appropriate curriculum, fine arts opportunities, athletic opportunities, a wide range of exploratory classes, STEM and Makerspace activities, computer coding activities, and character education programs. Through the use of technology, in which students are 1:1 with devices, students are developing needed 21st Century skills and are learning to communicate, create, and think critically through projects, discussions, and other activities.

The dedicated Middle School staff works collaboratively to meet the unique, individual needs of students and provide them with an appropriate educational experience in a safe environment. The Middle School’s goal is to develop the necessary academic, social, and emotional skills for our students to succeed in the 21st century. Positive values such as “Do What’s Right,” “Do Your Best,” and “Treat Others How You Want to Be Treated” are taught and modeled; they are the backbone of the school and help provide a safe and secure learning environment. MOC-FV High School

MOC-Floyd Valley Community School District offers strong academic grounding, numerous college preparatory courses, and opportunities to enroll in local college programs while still in high school. Students also receive support from school and community for involvement in a broad range of activities. Successful athletic teams compete in seven men’s sports and five women’s sports, while award-winning music programs include marching band, concert band, orchestra, choir, swing band, plus musical theatre. The American Music Conference named, “Orange City one of the top 100 places to live in America for quality music education.” Regional and state speech competitions engage more than 20% of MOC-FV students. Serving a population of nearly 10,000 people, the district covers 251 miles of rural farmland plus several small towns, with approximately 2,000 students, and has a strong community support from Alton, Hospers, Granville, Orange City, Maurice, and Newkirk.

Northwestern College

Iowa’s Standout Christian College, Northwestern College in Orange City provides an education committed to excellent academics and a Christ-centered worldview in a community in which students are known and valued.

Northwest Iowa Community College

Only twenty minutes northeast of Orange City, in Sheldon IA, Northwest Iowa Community College (NWICC) offers a broad range of educational options for 2400 credit students during 2009-2010. NWICC offers over 30 programs in varied fields including arts and sciences, business, computers, health, manufacturing, automotive, electrical, plus a variety of trade and technical programs. NWICC offers four programs that are not found anywhere else in Iowa: Powerline, Industrial Instrumentation and Control, Automotive Machining, and Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance. NWICC was named one of the “120 Best Community Colleges in the nation” by the Washington D.C. based Aspen Institute which was an outcome of the White House Summit on Education last year.
