New Online Tools Now Available for West Lawn Cemetery

The City of Orange City is pleased to introduce new online cemetery software designed to make it easier for residents to access information and plan ahead at West Lawn Cemetery.

Interactive Lot Selector

Residents can now view an interactive lot selector that displays available cemetery lots for purchase. This tool allows users to explore available spaces and submit an online request to purchase a lot. Submitting a request will notify City staff for review; availability is not guaranteed until the request has been confirmed. Those who prefer may also contact City staff directly for assistance.

Online Burial Search

In addition, an online burial records search is now available. This tool allows users to search for records and view burial locations marked with a pin on a map, making it easier to locate gravesites when visiting the cemetery.

In the future, this system will also include a mobile app that will help visitors navigate directly to burial locations with step-by-step directions.

Decoration Reminder

The Orange City Cemetery has a policy that flowers and decorations need to be removed by June 15 of each year. This is to allow efficient mowing and maintenance of the cemetery.

• All flowers and decorations must be removed by June 15, or they will be discarded. This applies to anything that is not permanently attached to the base or gravestone.
• Flowers and decorations may be placed at grave sites from May 20 to June 15.
