MOC-Floyd Valley Community School District offers strong academic grounding, numerous college preparatory courses, and opportunities to enroll in local college programs while still in high school. Students also receive support from school and community for involvement in a broad range of activities. Successful athletic teams compete in seven men’s sports and five women’s sports, while award-winning music programs include marching band, concert band, orchestra, choir, swing band, plus musical theatre. The American Music Conference named, “Orange City one of the top 100 places to live in America for quality music education.” Regional and state speech competitions engage more than 20% of MOC-FV students. Serving a population of nearly 10,000 people, the district covers 251 miles of rural farmland plus several small towns, with approximately 2,000 students, and has a strong community support from Alton, Hospers, Granville, Orange City, Maurice, and Newkirk.
